National Police Chief: Police Successfully Solve 1,297 Online Gambling Cases

"Through the Online Gambling Eradication Desk, the National Police enforced the law against 1,297 cases involving 1,492 suspects," said the National Police Chief, Tuesday (1/7/2025).

In uncovering thousands of cases, evidence worth Rp922.53 billion was successfully confiscated and 186,713 cases of online gambling were blocked.

Not only handling online gambling problems, the National Police also processed 13 money laundering cases (TPPU) related to online gambling.

Furthermore, the National Police Chief said that the National Police also formed the organizational structure of the Cyber ​​Investigation Directorate in eight regional police.

The formation was to face the development of cybercrime challenges and ensure the security of cyberspace.

According to the National Police Chief, online gambling has a major impact on society. In fact, currently online gambling players have penetrated into groups of minors.

Therefore, he requested that law enforcement against this crime be implemented maximally with coordination between departments so that this problem can be resolved.

"Including also carrying out (action, ed.) money laundering (TPPU) crimes against large groups of dealers so that we can withdraw their assets and confiscate them for the state," said the Chief of Police.
